Retired surgeon, Deborah A. Martinez, MD, and certified Feldenkrais practitioner, Oksana Plugatar, are teaming up to offer a one-of-a-kind Awareness Through Movement and Vascular Therapy class September 17 through October 18. This four-week series is offered twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to noon.
“This extraordinary class is designed to combine the scientifically-proven benefits of physical vascular therapy, which improves blood flow, and the Feldenkrais Method, which subtly retrains the nervous system,” says Martinez. “The class is ideal for anyone with posture or balance issues, illness, injury or neurological disorders.”
The vascular therapy device utilized by Martinez is an FDA-registered, class I medical device (safe to use), that is designed to improve blood flow in the human microcirculation, thereby supporting the body’s natural self-regulating processes.
In addition, Plugatar will teach participants the Feldenkrais Method of movement, which she explains, “is a powerful, scientifically-proven approach that teaches self-awareness, movement efficiency, balance and pain prevention. It’s life-changing!”
