Letter from Publisher: Dear Readers
Well, here we are! We made it to the February/March 2021 issue of Natural Awakenings Inland Northwest—our 41st issue, and I’m so thankful to still be here writing to you!
Like many small businesses locally and globally, this magazine has taken a financial hit due to the pandemic. As with all free publications, we are funded by advertising dollars and not to brag, but our advertisers are the absolute best of the best.
Over the years, we’ve featured some of the most health-conscious, wellness-based, sustainable and spiritually aligned businesses in the area. It’s truly been my honor to have a space and a place to showcase their voices, services, therapies, products and education. Unfortunately, many of these amazing companies have struggled through this time of COVID-19 and some have even had to close their doors. I also sense a reticence from businesses who have had to put advertising on hold because they are unsure what the future holds.
I get it. I am also unsure what the future holds; but I find myself trusting and surrendering to divine guidance, knowing that there is a higher plan for each and every one of us. With that in mind, I encourage you to take a closer look at the advertisers featured in this month’s magazine. Really savor this issue and take a few extra moments to observe each of their offerings. If you feel so compelled, reach out to the ones that are calling you forth into that greater version of yourself—whether it’s your body, mind or spirit, these businesses are here to help bring that forth. It’s what they do, and I am so thankful for each and every one of them.
Speaking of bringing
forth some higher good, I have two updates (aka shameless plugs) to share with
you! First, I have accepted a part-time administrator position with my dearly beloved
spiritual community—Unity Spiritual Center Spokane on the South Hill. Unity has
been my lifeline over the past five years, starting with just before my mom
passed away. I am passionate about their mission of transforming lives and
inspiring people to make a positive difference in our world and have
benefited greatly from the inner and outer work I’ve done through the Center.
For anyone seeking a spiritual home or for those interested in learning more about
all that Unity has to offer, please email me at [email protected] or
check out our transformational speaker series on Sundays at 10 a.m. either
virtually or in-person at UnitySpokane.org. You won’t be sorry!
Next up, check out page 3 and the back cover. That’s right, I’m holding a Women's Sacred Spiritual Retreat in Mexico this June in the sacred city of Tulum, Mexico, for a small group of women who are interested in travel, spiritual growth, sacred ceremony, community, adventure and fun! If that sounds good to you, then please join me and my co-spiritual facilitator, Dr. Mary Jeannot, for an information session on Tuesday, February 16 at 6 p.m. on Zoom. Call or text 509-869-4361 for details and let’s step into being the One in 2021!
While I don’t know what the future holds for this magazine or my role as its publisher, I will say this has been one of the most transformational, challenging, rewarding and spiritually enlightening efforts of my life. I am so thankful to you, dear reader, for showing up and being here—and even if only one, tiny thing you read in these pages expanded your mind, body or spirit in some way, then I know I have done my divine work, and so have you. Happy February and March my friends! I hope to see you again in April.
Trusting that it is all in divine order,
